CatalogCut tools

Tag AI images for Amazon and Google.

Check whether a product image carries the AI tags marketplaces ask for, then add them: Amazon's contains-synthetic-performer keyword and Google's IPTC digital source type. Up to 50 JPEG or PNG files at once.

Free. No account. Your images never leave your browser.

1. How was the image made?

Your images never leave this browser. Up to 40 MB each and 100 MB per batch. Existing XMP is replaced; EXIF and colour profiles are kept.

Choose files to see the AI tags they have now and what they will have after tagging.

What the tags are

Two pieces of hidden metadata now matter for AI product images. Amazon asks sellers to add the keyword contains-synthetic-performer to the XMP subject field (dc:subject) of images that show photorealistic AI-generated people. Google Merchant Center asks that images made with generative AI keep the IPTC DigitalSourceType field, which says how an image was made.

This tool writes both into the file you choose. Pick Made with generative AI (trainedAlgorithmicMedia) for images an AI created, or Edited with generative AI (compositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia) for real photos with AI-generated parts.

Do it with ExifTool instead

If you prefer the command line, ExifTool writes the same fields:

exiftool "-XMP-dc:Subject+=contains-synthetic-performer" image.jpg
exiftool "-XMP-iptcExt:DigitalSourceType=http://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/trainedAlgorithmicMedia" image.jpg
exiftool -G1 -a -s -XMP-dc:Subject -XMP-iptcExt:DigitalSourceType image.jpg

Tagging only labels an image. It does not make a misleading image acceptable: every marketplace still requires that photos show the product the buyer will receive. See marketplace image size guidance.

CatalogCut images are tagged for you

Images you download from CatalogCut Stage carry the IPTC source type, and on-model shots also carry Amazon's synthetic-performer keyword, so there is nothing extra to do. Every Stage image is also checked against your original photo before you get it. How Stage works

Questions

Which images need Amazon's contains-synthetic-performer tag?

Amazon asks sellers to tag images and videos that show photorealistic people generated entirely by AI, for example an AI model wearing your garment. Photos of real people, even if edited with AI, images without people, and clearly non-photorealistic characters do not need it.

What does Google Merchant Center require for AI-generated images?

Google asks that images created with generative AI keep IPTC DigitalSourceType metadata that marks them as AI-generated, such as TrainedAlgorithmicMedia, and that you do not remove it.

Does tagging change how my image looks?

No. The tool only writes a small block of XMP metadata into the file. The pixels, size and quality are unchanged, and EXIF and colour profiles are kept. Any XMP already in the file is replaced.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The files are read and rewritten inside your browser. Nothing is sent to CatalogCut.

Why do my tags disappear after I compress or resize the image?

Many image optimizers, CDNs and editing apps strip metadata to save bytes. Tag the final file you upload, then choose it again here to confirm the tags are still present.

Can I tag WebP or HEIC files?

Not yet. Save the image as JPEG or PNG first, then tag it. The checker can still read tags in WebP files.
